It is a wonderful place to mix the excitement of fishing of the North Coast of Panama with the relaxation that the amenities of the Lodge afford. The accommodations were comfortable and the staff was wonderful. I can’t wait for a return trip this coming Fall. Thanks again for the wonderful hospitality.
GRANVIL KINCAID JR. (Panama): It was an incredible experience due to the location and the peace you feel laying in the hammock at the lodge with a nice cold beer in your hand after a two-hour fight with a 40 pound tarpon. This is a top-five life experience.
ROB ROBINSON (U.S.A.): I contacted the Belen River Tarpon Lodge for a trip through the Panama Canal and 3 days of fishing on the Volcan Reef in the Caribbean west of Colon. It was a wonderful trip. Scutt and his crew were very accommodating and the fishing was excellent. We caught numerous large Wahoo, the highlight of the trip. We will fish again with the Belen River Fishing Lodge and recommend you give them a try.
FEDERICO DIAZ ZUNIGA (Panama): Sencillamente, Un lugar espectacular…!!! Cuando salimos a pescar, no habian pasado mas de 20 min cuando espezaron a verse los carnumenes de Atun de Aleta Amarilla por todos lados, era algo impresionante, impresionante. De inmediato soltamos las cañas y nos pusimos a pescar, obviamente, no habiamos terminado se soltar las cañas cuando de una vez empezaron las alarmas de las cañas a asonar, y sonar y sonar, y asi fue todo el dia… Al final de ese dia terminamos sacando 40 atunes; Como escribi al inicio, Un lugar Sencillamente Espectacular…!!! Simply put – a spectacular place. ..!!! Within 20 minutes of leaving the lodge we were surrounded by Yellow Fin Tuna. It was impressive. The fishing action started immediately. All line alarms were sounding off. I gave it everything I had and, in the end, we caught 40 tuna. As I said at the beginning, the place was spectacular.

It was an awesome experience for me starting with the trip getting there, to the unforgettable scenery and nature, to the incredible service and food. I felt like I was in a National Geographic or Mutual of Omaha Wild Kingdom adventure. The ride up the river fishing and meeting the local indigenous people was incredible and the beach and offshore fishing was second to none. Give my regards to the staff and thanks again, looking forward to my next visit.
VICENTE and LAURA VALLARINO (Panamá): Fue un experiencia increible, el Lodge es una hermosa casa señorial de madera, rodeada de palmeras y hamacas frente al mar, confortables cuartos privados, una cocina muy bien equipada, un chef de primera que con gusto preparara de manera magistral toda la pesca del dia o lo que gustes. Todo el personal es amable y trataran de colaborarte y complacerte en todo. Nuestro anfitrion, el simpatico Charlie Roberts, nos mantuvo muy entretenidos con sus interesantes charlas sobre la historia del área y su evolucion. Muy cerca del Lodge se encuentran pueblitos de amigables indigenas con los que uno puede compartir su cultura, rios de aguas cristalinas y la más increible pesca. Tan pronto salimos del Lodge los peces empezaron a picar uno tras otro y justo cuando ya pensabamos que el dia era perfecto surgio un enorme tiburon ballena y se coloco al lado del bote dejendonos a todos aun más impresionados, si es posible. Muy cerca de Rio Belen Lodge puedes llegar a otros excelentes y muy turisticos destinos como son las islas del área de Bocas del Toro y Escudo de Veraguas, haciendo de este paseo una experiencia completa. En el Lodge encontraras un ambiente de relajacion y descanso para iniciar cada dia preparado para una abundante pesca. It was an incredible experience incredible. The Lodge is a beautiful stately wood house, surrounded by palm trees and hammocks set against the sea with comfortable private rooms, a kitchen very well equipped, a first class chef who prepared the fish we caught or what like. All of the staff were kind and they tried to accommodate you and please you in every way. Our good friend, Charlie kept us entertained with its interesting chats on the history of the area and its evolution. The Lodge is located near a small town of friendly locals willing to share their culture, rivers of crystalline water and incredible fish. As soon as we left the Lodge, fish began to biting, one after another. Just when we thought things couldn’t get better, an enormous whale swam passed our boat. It was impressive. There are other excellent tourist destinations very near the Lodge including beautiful islands where you can walk the beaches. The Lodge is a great place to relax and rest to get ready to incredible fishing adventures.
