It is hard to surprise people who have already been almost everywhere. But I managed to surprise my parents when I took them to a wonderful fishing lodge hidden in the virgin area of Caribbean shore of Panama.
First of all, we had an amazing road trip from Panama City to Colon, seeing old beautiful villages and beaches, until we reached the end of the road on the Costa Abajo. Then we continued our trip by boat enjoying the perfectly flat and shiny ocean, stunning sun and incredible views eventually arriving on the untouched shore of the historical town of Belen. When we arrived at the lodge we were received by the friendly and attentive crew who made our stay pleasant and relaxing.
And that was followed by two days of boat trips fishing (and my dad is a great fisherman) in different spots, snorkelling, visiting an extremely beautiful island called Escudo de Veraguas (which Mr. Jacques Cousteau once called the Tahiti of the Caribbean), watching about a hundred dolphins jumping and playing alongside the boat so close that we could touch them. We walked along the shore, fished in the river, swam in the transparent waters of the Caribbean and just relax. A very special part of our trip was visiting the historical town of Santa Maria de Belen.
I can say for sure that this was the perfect trip for my parents. What else could you add?
A very special place, remote, where nobody can get to, a journey full of emotional highs and unforgettable experiences, delicious food (like in the best restaurants), and a beautiful eco-friendly lodge with all the amenities and rustic style – all in one magical place!!!
Thank you guys for this amazing trip!!!
