How do you celebrate your 8th wedding anniversary when your husband has so little free time? First things first. A visit to the beauty salon, take in a fashion show, enjoy candle light dinner together and a bouquet of beautiful red roses, plus…(the surprise highlight for me) spending quality time together fishing. The fun started as soon as we left the marina. We caught fish all the way to the Lodge. I arrived to find a beautiful bouquet of wild flowers in our cabin that my husband arranged for. The food and drinks were great as was spending time with my husband. We enjoyed an incredible sunset and a full moon skyline. The next morning we had coffee in the hammocks before leaving the lodge for an incredible day of fishing. We caught 22 Tuna and a bunch of Wahoo. Tuna sushi anyone? The next day we fished around Isla Veraguas. What a magnificent place. A must-see to believe. Beautiful white sand beaches. We had lunch on the island and enjoyed swimming in crystal clear waters. It was another magical day. I discovered that sports fishing is not only for men, and I can’t wait until our next anniversary to do it again. I will be back to catch a 200 pound Tarpon. That’s my goal. We had a memorable time celebrating our anniversary at the Lodge. Thanks to the staff & crew at the Belen River Tarpon Lodge.
